Buried Village - Now, nearly 120 years on, the excavated village offers an insight into the devastation, chaos and mayhem that transpired on the night of the eruption. View the excavated archaeological sites, where Maori whare and settler buildings have been excavated to their original floor level and enjoy the pristine native bush that surrounds the area.
